Tell us about your ethnic background!

My mom is Chinese and Mongolian, and my dad is predominantly Polish. I grew up as a Chinese Restaurant Kid™ in Florida, but did not know any other Asian people outside of my family and never met another mixed-race Asian person until college. Since then, I have had the privilege of connecting with many AAPI communities/spaces and every day I feel more proud and at home in my own skin.

What do you try to capture with your art?

Joy, wonder, nostalgia, and a connection/affinity with the natural world.

Name your 3 favorite local Asian restaurants! 

It's so hard to pick just 3! I'm going to go with Roji (amazing speakeasy omakase), Mahope (the street dog changed my life), and Chako (she even made my wedding cake!).
