Tell us about your ethnic background!

As a Chinese-born adoptee, I was introduced to Chinese culture when I was in early Elementary school. Since then, I haven’t had much of a connection to my heritage. I have two sisters - one of whom is also a Chinese-born adoptee and has been an amazing influence and connection to the AAPI community and heritage. She is why I’m connecting more, and I’m grateful for everything she has done for me and the growing community.

What do you try to capture with your art?

Capturing the essence of the original media that I gain inspiration from is one of my primary focuses. I want to make art that celebrates each topic and doesn’t stray from the original brand or theme out of the utmost respect.

Name your 3 favorite local Asian restaurants! 

Kanji OTR - because it’s so close to Findlay Market and the sushi/Miso soup is AMAZING. Mint Bistro is a little further away towards Milford, but it’d such a great family owned restaurant that serves amazing boba. Last, I recommend Ichiban! Their sushi is also amazing, and it’s a casual place with low lighting which is such a mood sometimes.
